Using an endoscope to search features for bats and bat evidence is a very useful tool to ecologists carrying out bat surveys. Users should be Class 2 Bat Licenced to use an endoscope to search for bats or under the supervision of a Class 2 Bat Licenced ecologist. We use endoscopes on preliminary roost assessments to search features within structures like under ridge tiles in a loft space for instance or when carrying out an aerial tree assessment when we need to look inside a hole or split in a tree for example.
