Emergence/Re-entry Surveys

How we help with Emergence/Re-entry Surveys

Bat Emergence & Re-entry Surveys (BERS) are used if the initial PRA highlights potential for roosting bats. These surveys help to ascertain whether a structure is being used by bats and which species. Other information collected includes bat numbers, and the type of roost, either Maternity, non-breeding or hibernation.

Specialist equipment is used to collect evidence of roosting bats. Depending on the potential of a structure, one, two or three of these surveys will need to be completed during the active bat season. We cater for these and complete the accompanying report to add to the initial PRA which can then be presented to your local planning authority.

Who could benefit from Emergence/Re-entry Surveys

This service benefits both individuals and developers seeking planning permission for activities such as:

  • Extensions
  • Roof repairs
  • Renovations
  • Loft conversions
